spring 1956
A London Midland Region publicity image (negative DM449) showing "Conway Valley - diesel railcar on Llandudno Junction - Blaenau Ffestiniog service". No date, probably around spring/summer 1956, and seen between Glan Conwy and Llandudno Junction where it runs along the east bank of the River Conwy. The leading (but not the rear) set is a power twin and the closest vehicle appears to be M79185 - a vehicle that would be allocated to Llandudno Junction several times in its short 11 1/2 year career. High above Trago Mills a Penzance to Plymouth working has just crossed St Pinnick viaduct next stop Liskeard. This location has been impossible to do since about 1980 completely overgrown, even then it was very tight. The west side has been back on again but the trees are a growing up fast. roger geach.

99900 at Oxenhope on the Keighley & Worth Valley line in June 1979. It was converted to blue star for remote control of the loco at the other end. Ken Barnes.

Three weeks road learning at Toton, most of it on single unit DB975042 until it disappeared mysteriously on the last week. Here Guide Bridge Driver Norman 'Nobby' Robinson is seen here at the helm of the replacement 2 car unit, 56116 and 51124. Taken somewhere in the Hope Valley. Having left Edale heading towards Manchester and about to plunge into the 2 mile 182 yard Cowburn Tunnel in the Hope Valley on 23rd August 1986, a 1961 built BRC&W built "MetroTrain" branded class 110 'Calder Valley' 3 car dmu set, this one being E52085 + E59696 + E52069, these were not common through here, indeed I'm sure this is the only shot I have of one! The last of the class were taken out of service in October 1989 but by then they were no longer common in the Calder Valley. Andrew J Crowther.

Hybrid 4-car DMU with Class 115 DMBS 51662 leading arriving Lichfield Trent Valley from Birmingham on 15-3-89. The set is presumably formed 51662+59610+59743+53886, Class 115+127+115+116, DMBS+TLS+TS+DMS, but formations were very fluid at Tyseley at this time! On Tour With The Class 13 Army.
