In May 1999 class 117 set 117701 (51392 + 51350) stands spare at Watford Junction. It had worked the St Albans branch the day before because of an emu shortage but I found out too late. Ian Buck.

Class 117 2-Car DMU set L704 at Watford Junction on March 19th 1994. The DMU was formed of driving cars 51383 & 51341, originally a 3-car set with an intermediate trailer car, the unit had been built by Pressed Steel in 1959. Martyn Hilbert.

On Sunday 28th May 1989 the overhead power lines were switched off for maintenance etc, therefore the first few up locals from Birmingham / Rugby and Northampton were DMUs. My train to work that Sunday morning was a 4-car DMU Set from Tyseley depot, seen here in the Up Main Platform at Watford Junction, no doubt the Up Slow Line was also out for track maintenance! A two-car Cravens set approaches Watford North station and the level crossing over Bushey Mill Lane, working from St Albans Abbey on 18 January 1975. The factory on the left is the old Blaw Knox works which had closed back in the 1960s. The area on the left is now occupied by an industrial estate, totally screened from the railway by trees. On the billboards to the right is an advert for The Electric Scots. Kevin Lane.

The conductor guard is seen ambling up the platform closing the doors at Watford Junction on the St.Albans Abbey branch platform despite what the trains destination blind says. Platform 11 at Watford Junction is still somewhat isolated from the main part of the station and is adjacent to Watford Junction Yard. The rather shabby old class 104 DMU set is formed of Bletchley allocated vehicles M53539+M54183. It has just arrived with the 10.22 from St.Albans Abbey and will return as the 11.03 to St.Albans Abbey being a "one train working" branch line with no passing loops. February 11, 1984.
