Two Class 125 DMUs passing Enfield Chase on a King's Cross - Welwyn Garden City service, 05/76. One set is noted as 51155 + 59450 + 51004. Hugh Llewelyn.
On a Romford - Upminster service is a BR Derby diesel-hydraulic DMU, with Motor Brake Second E51156 leading, in the bay platform at Romford on 11 April 1964. John Cosford.
With the Great Eastern main line in the foreground, a withdrawn Class 125 3-Car DMU, with Driving Motor Brake Second E51156 & Trailer Second E59456 visible, were stood in the sidings at Stratford on October 22nd 1979. Martyn Hilbert.
8 years after being withdrawn in 1976 class 125 DMBS E51156 stands in Tinsley Yard on the 22nd July 1984. Built with hydraulic transmission these units were originally based at Stratford for working the Lea Valley line but electrification displaced them to Finsbury Park for suburban lines out of King's Cross until electrification in 1976. The Swindon Works 'Con Yard' on 5th October 1980 contained a Derby Works 'class 125/2' diesel hydraulic multiple unit, 'motor brake second' E51159, ex-Stratford depot, cannibalised for spares, and former GW steam loco tenders presumably used as mobile water storage at the works or elsewhere. With the overhead electric wires already in place, a suburban dmu formed of two Class 125s (E51160 closest) prepares to leave Welwyn Garden City with a stopping service to Kings Cross on 28 January 1976. These units had hydraulic rather than mechanical transmission. Tony Watson.
