circa 1982

ADB975426, which was converted from Swindon Inter-City DMBSL 79098 to become a mess van part of the Bletchley TMD Breakdown Train. It was replaced around 1977 and was then acquired by the Chief Civil Engineering department and noted a several locations around the Midlands. Date / location if this location is unknown, appearances suggest it could be en-route to scrapping at Snailwell circa May 1982. K F Tomes Duckwailk.

A rare view of 79094 (and an unidentified partner) running in service after being exported to Liberia. It is fortunate that the vehicles retained their BR numbers on the cab fronts during this period. Taken at Greenfield Quarry on November 24th 1982, the traincrew are Pete Fisher & Augustus Nelson. A 2009 image of one of the ex-Edinburgh / Glasgow Swindon Inter-City vehicles in Liberia. It remains in the former workshop at Yekepa, robbed of pretty much everything in the years since LAMCO abandoned them. Mining had begun again in the area this time with the firm Arcol Mittal, and the railway has been re-opened but stopping just short of the old workshops. Thomas Johannesson.
