This page features a selection of handbills from the late 1950s / early 1960s, the period these services were operated almost exclusively by Class 100 GRC&W driver-trailer sets.
The first few feature a line drawing of a GRC&W set by Kenneth Steel.
The first services were introduced on 3rd February 1958 between Corstorphine and North Berwick. This timetable lasted just two weeks until the 15th February. Scan courtesy of John Horne
The DMUs were introduced on then next route, Waverley - Peebles / Galashiels on 17th February 1958, and this booklet contained the timetables for that route and Corstorphine - North Berwick.
This one began 5th May 1958 covering Edinburgh - Leith (North).
Beginning 9th June 1958 for Waverley - Musselburgh, Corstorphine - North Berwick and Waverley - Peebles / Galashiels.
An excursion handbill for 22nd June 1958. It's not known whether a Class 100 operated this excursion (although likely!) but the illustration features the same Class 100 line drawing.
