Scottish Region 2-digit Codes

ScR 2-digit codes taken from the Scottish Region Working timetable for the period 4 September 1967 to 5 May 1968.

ROUTE/DESTINATION INDICATORS FOR SCOTTISH REGION INTERNAL MULTIPLE-UNIT DIESEL TRAINS.

All multiple-unit diesel trains will be identified by the two-digit classification/route/destination system which will consist of:-

 (1) A figure (1, 2 or 3) to indicate train classification.
 (2) A letter (A, B, C, etc) to indicate route and/or destination as shown below.

Exceptions:
(a) Trains between Edinburgh and Glasgow Central will be identified by the four-digit train classification/route/destination system which will consist of:-

 (1) A figure (1,2 or 3) to indicate train classification.
 (2) A17 indicating the route and destination

(b) Inter-City Multiple-Unit Diesel Trains working between Edinburgh and Glasgow (Queen Street) and Aberdeen and Inverness will not exhibit
ROUTE/DESTINATION indicators. They will exhibit a figure (1, 2 or 3) to indicate train classification.
