Before commencing the business of the meeting the Chairman welcomed Mr.Tonge to the Committee, and also Mr.Elliott representing the Assistant Civil Engineer.

246.  MINUTES OF MEETING OF 11TH JANUARY 1955.

Agreed.

247.  WATFORD - ST.ALBANS BRANCH.

(a)  First Unit.

Mr.Stanley reported that when this unit was in Wolverton for wheel attention, it was found that the paint was peeling badly and as it was not practicable to touch up the paint it had been decided to repaint it in the new diesel colours. He expected the unit would be ready for service within a fortnight but it was very desirable that rail lubricators should be installed on the Harrow-Belmont branch before the unit is returned to service. Mr.Elliott stated that the lubricators are on order and he will press for early delivery but if there is any delay he will transfer two from the Watford-St.Albans Branch before the first unit is returned to the Harrow - Belmont Branch.

(b)  Second Unit

The Chairman said that B.U.T. now expected to deliver this unit and the two spare cars before the end of May 1955.

(c)  Fuelling and Maintenance arrangements at Watford.

Noted that these are now complete.

(d)  Rail Lubricators.

Noted that these have now been installed.
