1.  Minutes of meeting of 8th April, 1957

Agreed.

2.  Programme of Light Weight Diesel operation over the next five years.

(a)  Allocation into types of 1,000 ordered. - Mr.Gould stated that, as a result of a revision of the number of 63'6" suburban vehicles required for the St.Pancras scheme, a re-investigation was being made into the allocation of the 1,000 vehicles and a submission will be made shortly.

Noted that it is now anticipated 180 63'6" vehicles will be required for the St.Pancras scheme in order to give a greater coverage to the Midland suburban services and the investigation is proceeding.  The design of the 63'6" unit for this scheme has now been agreed between the departments concerned and drawings prepared and it was agreed that when the number of units required is finally settled, the drawings be submitted and an order for the building of the vehicles be placed with the B.T.C. pending the submission of the complete report.
