At the head of a line-up of First Generation DMU sets stabled between duties in platform 5 at Southport on April 16th 1989, was two-car Class 101/108 hybrid formed of cars E54085 & E51420 (N616). Martyn Hilbert.
A five-car DMU formation in Llandudno Junction station in July 1989. On the rear, closest, is a Class 108 DMBS (51420) / Class 101 DMSL hybrid, the far set is also a hybrid with a Class 104 centre car (59148) between two Class 108 power cars (52056 + 53930). George Woods.
