A blue square Derby Lightweight DMU with DMBS M51420 seen in Walsall station in the early 1960s. John Horne Collection.
A Class 108 DMBS and DTCL and a suburban set on the right freshly painted into refurbished livery in Swindon Works. The slide had a process date of June 1979, the Class 108 DMBS appears to be M51420 - it and M51424 had a refurbished date of 25/5/79 and were the last two Class 108 DMBSs to be painted in this livery at Swindon. A five-car DMU formation in Llandudno Junction station in July 1989. On the rear, closest, is a Class 108 DMBS (51420) / Class 101 DMSL hybrid, the far set is also a hybrid with a Class 104 centre car (59148) between two Class 108 power cars (52056 + 53930). George Woods.

At the head of a line-up of First Generation DMU sets stabled between duties in platform 5 at Southport on April 16th 1989, was two-car Class 101/108 hybrid formed of cars E54085 & E51420 (N616). Martyn Hilbert.
