Class 104 set N662 (presumably 53431 + 53512) sits in the sidings at Southport on October 1st 1988 as 47 557 departs with vintage VSOE Pullman stock heading for Folkestone and a four-day break in Paris. Martyn Hilbert.

With a BRCW Class 104 DMU formed of cars M53431 & M53512 (N662) stabled in the sidings, Class 150/2 150 211 was departing from Southport with a service for Manchester Victoria on October 1st 1988. 150 211 was one of the batch of 'odd' numbered 150/2's that went new to Newton Heath in 1986/87. Class 104 DMU at Preston

1st April 1989

A two-car BRCW Class 104 DMU formed of cars M53512 & M53431 (N662) was stood at the North end of platform 6 at Preston ready to work ECS back to its home depot at Newton Heath on the evening of April 1st 1989. The cars had been long-term residents of Newton Heath, but four months after this image was recorded, the set was transferred to Chester Depot and given the set number CH606. Both cars were withdrawn from service in 1990. Martyn Hilbert.
