A DMU formed of 53082, 59617 and 51131 (Class 116 power cars and a 127 centre car) arriving at Birmingham New Street station on 12 March 1988. Keith Miller.

Class 116 DMU at Small Heath, Birmingham

circa late 1993

An interesting formation (116 DMBS, 116 DMS, 116 DMS, 115 DMBS (smaller brake compartment) and 116 DMS), seen at Small Heath, Birmingham, emitting a great plume of smoke as it passes. The destination blind reads Longbridge, but this is an ECS move (no passengers are visible) from Tyseley depot to Birmingham New Street to work on the Cross-City Line. The leading car is M53053, and set T333, which dates it around late 1993. Graeme Phillips Collection.
