Three-car Class 101 DMU set TS411 is seen in Smethwick West station on 17 September 1976. Michael Mensing.

27th May 1978

The Birmingham Cross-city line opened in 1978 and Tyseley depot was using some interesting hybrid Diesel Multiple Unit (DMU) formations at the outset. Class 100 50342, class 108 56267 and class 105 50812 call at Five Ways with a Longbridge service on 27 May 1978. Chris Morrison.

Class 101 DMU at Kings Norton

19th August 1978

Met-Camm set TS411 (50332 presumably leads) is the front set on the 1.02pm Lichfield City - Longbridge service arriving into Kings Norton on August 19, 1978. Michael Mensing.

Class 100 DMU at Birmingham New Street

circa 1980

A hybrid dmu formation with a class 100 DMBS, M50343, at the rear leaves platform 1 at Birmingham New Street heading for Kidderminster. 50343 was based at Tyseley from May 1975 until withdrawal in September 1981 having previously been based in Scotland. This photo was probably taken around 1980. The two Class 101 cars in the formation are presumably M59124 + M50332. Tony Walmsley.

Class 100 DMU at Warwick

27th May 1980

Tyseley DMU set TS411 arrives into Warwick station on Tuesday 27 May 1980, Birmingham (Moor Street) on the destination blind. It is formed of Class 100 DMBS 50343 and two Met-Camm vehicles, presumably 59124 + 50332. David Russon.
