A Park Royal DMU departs from Crewe, M50406 seems to be the leading car. Undated, the set was new in June 1958 and this was likely circa 1959. Electrification work has begun with two masts visible. Stuart Mackay Collection.
A fairly rare photo of a Park Royal formed into a (hybrid) 3-car set. 50406 is with Met Camm Class 101 vehicles 59131 & 50337,at Helsby on the 09:38 Runcorn - Chester service (date unrecorded). Notes on the back of the original photo record that 50406 replaced 50320 in the set, the latter being subsequently paired with 56080. Anthony Griffiths.
