The 5.32pm Lincoln - Derby service is seen just East of Thurgarton station on May 27th, 1974, headed by E50038. Michael Mensing.
Class 114 Derby 2-car DMUs at Sheffield on 16-7-83, DMBS 53038 on left for Huddersfield, DMBS 53003 with 10-56 to Retford on right. On Tour With the Class 13 Army.
Class 114 DMBS 53038, part of set T021 (presumably with 54042), is seen with Red Star parcels branding on the side at Tyseley on 26.12.1987. Andy Cole.
A Class 114 set led by 53038, carrying Tyseley set number T021 (and presumably with 54042), branded "Red Star" and displaying "Bingham" in the destination blind passes the remains of Burton Latimer & Isham station with an up service. The up slow has already been lifted and the last remains of the down slow are being dealt with. A quarter of a century later, a third track was re-instated. Mike Dean.
Tyseley DMU depot includes Class 114 Derby 2-car parcel DMU T021 (53038 + 54042) and another unidentified set plus high density stock (including 51867 from T412 on the left) on 28-11-88. On Tour With the Class 13 Army.
Arriving in to the short platforms of Thurgarton station is the 3.32pm Lincoln - Derby service on May 27th, 1974. The power (furthest vehicle) is E50038. Michael Mensing.
Trains waiting at Paignton Great Western station on 3rd January 1975. The DMU (50090 closest?) is headed for Exeter St Davids and the Class 50 diesel 50038 for London (Paddington). Pete LG99.
A Class 114 DMU (56042 + 50038) on Doncaster station with the 15:15 Hull-Manchester Piccadilly service on 11 April 1981. Robert Thomas.
A Class 114 Derby Heavyweight DMU at New Holland Town on April 18 1981 formed of DTC E56042 and DMBS E50038. John Carter.
E56042 + E50038 New Holland Pier on April 18, 1981. A shame the ferry wasn't allowed to continue once the Humber Bridge was built. It would probably be still well used by train passengers between Hull and North Lincolnshire John Carter.
A Class 114 DMU formed of 54025 + 53038 in platform 12 at York on 17 February 1986. It is thought to have worked the 08.42 ex Leeds via Harrogate, arriving in York at 10.01, and likely to return the same way as the 11.05 departure. 'Harrogate' was displayed on the blinds to save any confusion for the passengers with the more direct route between Leeds & York. Rob Paterson.
