An ex-Eastern Region Cravens Class 105 DMU (the DTC appears to be 56127), was stood in bay platform 3C at Preston with a service to Ormskirk (despite the destination display) on October 22nd 1977. Martyn Hilbert.
A Southport to Bolton Service formed of a Cravens Class 105 2-Car DMU, with M56127 leading, calls at Meols Cop in the Southport Suburbs on the 5th July 1980. Until September 1964, Meols Cop was the former mid journey reversal point for the electrics that worked from Southport to Crossens on the now closed line to Preston. The intermediate stations between Meols Cop and Crossens, at Hesketh Park and Churchtown that were served by the electrics and also the steam-worked services to and from Preston, were also closed. Martyn Hilbert.
Three Class 108s and a Class 105 form a Rainhill special passing the audience in May 1980. The full formation is likely M51935 + 52050 / M56251 + 50968 / M50372 + 56127 / M52055 + 51901. Stuart Mackay Collection.
