July 1955 - 79252/6/8/9 were stored at Bardney while power cars 79036 /79040 /79042 /79043 were on loan to Lincoln as they don't have first class accommodation.
12/05/56 - A private charter was organised by the father of an RCTS member from Ipswich via Bury St.Edmunds, Ely, Sleaford and Lincoln to Doncaster (for a tour of the works) using 79043/79259. On the return journey there were signs of possible overheating at Lincoln so 79062/79278 were provided for the rest of the journey.
