It is thought be between Widford and Hadham, the second/third stations out of St. Margarets on the Buntingford branch - pretty much as close as possible to the Wickham factory at Ware without being on the main line. If so then the train is facing towards Widford and St. Margarets. Wickham.

Andrew Chilcott has identified the smiling young man as Colin Hall. His roles on the railway included Head of Acceptance at Railtrack then Network Rail between 1998 and 2004. He and his team dealt with acceptance primarily of rolling stock but also plant & machinery and suchlike, and accepting preserved machines onto the controlled infrastructure.
