The 13.23 Darlington to Saltburn service stands at Middlesbrough on Thursday July 2nd 1981 formed of a Class 101 Metro-Cammell twin unit. The power car leading (E50221) is looking smart having been in for a works overhaul four months before. New in August 1957 it was no stranger to the area, having been based at Sunderland, South Gosforth or Darlington all its life. It is paired with E56386.
