The carriage sidings at Bedford Midland photographed in February 1981, full of Class 127 dmus awaiting their next duties. The "new" Bedford Midland station can be seen in the distance, with another Class 127 reversing before returning on a service to St Pancras. These sidings were swept away to make space for the extended car park at Bedford, and the Class 127s were all replaced when the line was electrified by Class 319 emus.
