Doncaster South Yorkshire 1985: the old order on the East Coast Main Line at Doncaster station. We had just arrived from Thorne North on the Class 108 Hull-Sheffield diesel multiple unit standing at platform 3. Over in bay platform 6 is a Class 141 Pacer British Rail/Leyland railcar on a Metro-Train Leeds service. Introduced in 1984 these lightweight units were all withdrawn by 1997 and in 2001-2 many were exported to Iran.
