Class 123 DMU no. 52087 heading a mixed class 123/124 Trans-Pennine set at Morecambe on 3/Mar/1984. After the cessation of the display of headcodes, most class 123s eventually had the headcode panels removed completely and standard DMU marker lights installed in re-panelled cab front as seen here. They operated some services from the North West to the East Coast in their twilight years.
