Surplus to requirements but in warm storage, a rake of Derby class 108 DMU cars was stabled in the sidings at Blackpool North, seen here on April 3rd 1993. The nearest car in this view is well-travelled Driving Motor Brake Second 51919 which despite its destination appears to have been a South Wales allocated set at some point in its long career. Keeping company alongside are surplus class 305 EMU centre trailer coaches in Network South East livery. A view taken in more enlightened times when access was granted with permission of local BR staff in attendance.
