Class 104 DMU at Manchester Victoria

Details

A once familiar scene that was played out daily from the Manchester Victoria of old - a well-worn location with an equally well-worn first generation Diesel Multiple Unit. With most of the doors left wide open, a Class 104 BRCW DMU with Driving Motor Brake Second M50455 leading, was awaiting departure for Blackpool North on September 16th 1980. These units, all allocated just up the line at Newton Heath Depot, dominated the services to Blackpool & Southport in the 1970's and into the early 1980's.
