On 04/03/1978, the 1051 Carlisle-Newcastle - seen here departing Prudhoe, was operated by this 5-car DMU formation. At the rear is a 2-car Class 101 with a decidedly Scottish looking trailer vehicle nearest the camera with no destination blind and its window frames painted in blue. Leading is a 3-car unit which appears to be Class 101 driving vehicles sandwiching a Class 104 centre trailer.
