A worn-looking Gloucester Class 128 MPV, M55990 was ticking over between duties, stood against the block in platform 6 at Manchester Piccadilly on March 18th 1979. On the right of this scene, in platform 5, is the front end of a refurbished Class 108, and also a Nestle Chocolate machine - these red/white vending machines were a familiar sight across the BR station network in the 1970's & 1980's.
