In this scene, taken by Peter Shoesmith, Gloucester RC&W Motor Parcels Van M55990 is standing in the bay Platform at Wolverhampton Station. A class 119 is arriving with a train for Shrewsbury and an 08 has a maroon BG in the parcels sidings. At this time Wolverhampton Station was dominated by the flour and provender mill, appropriately owned by J.N. Miller. The Mill closed in 1981 but flour Milling at the site ended in 1959. The mill suffered a fire in 2008 and was demolished. The transparency is on Dixon's finest Prinzcolor film and Peter unfortunately caught the sun full onto the DMU, I have managed to get some detail back in Photoshop but it still looks odd. Undated, the livery on the 119 suggests circa 1968 / 1969. Copyright Geoff Dowling & John Whitehouse; all rights reserved. Geoff Dowling and John Whitehouse Collection.

Gloucester RC&W DMPV (or MPMV as noted on the vehicle) M55990 is seen in the centre road at Shrewsbury. No date, but probably while the vehicle was allocated to Chester between the end of 1968 and October 1971. Graham Clark.

Gloucester RC&W Class 128 Motor Parcels Van (MPV) M55990 at Manchester Piccadilly, circa late 1970s. The Albion engine 230hp Gloucester Railway Carriage & Wagon Co. parcels units were supplied in 1960 to the WR and LMR, those supplied to the LMR having no gangway connection. A worn-looking Gloucester Class 128 MPV, M55990 was ticking over between duties, stood against the block in platform 6 at Manchester Piccadilly on March 18th 1979. On the right of this scene, in platform 5, is the front end of a refurbished Class 108, and also a Nestle Chocolate machine - these red/white vending machines were a familiar sight across the BR station network in the 1970's & 1980's. Martyn Hilbert.
Piccadilly Parcels. Not the sharpest of images by a long way, but a reasonably interesting one. One of the four LMR Gloucester Class 128 Motor Parcels Vans, M55990, trundles out of Manchester Piccadilly on 21st April 1979. It was withdrawn from service almost exactly three years later. Syd Young.
