A wide view of Bamber Bridge with a Newton Heath Cravens Class 105 Power-Twin, formed of cars M50804 & M50765, stood with a Colne to Preston service on May 18th 1981. The former Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway stone built waiting room (complete with 'scar' on the West end where the Gents was once located), was still standing on the Blackburn bound platform. The opposite platform was still low-height, and included some wooden steps as access to the doors of DMU's for those whose mobility was not great.
