Class 119 DMU no. B580 (presumably 51066 closest) and Class 101 DMU no. B800 - with car no. W51515 nearest the camera - are seen at Swindon on Sunday 23/01/1977. With the exception of a few class 120 / 126 vehicles on the Scottish Region, Cross-Country and Inter-City DMUs (classes 119, 120, 123, 124, 126) generally went straight from green to blue & grey livery. In 1975, the Western Region acquired five 3-car class 101s, which they numbered 800-804, intended for Cross-Country work, thus they received blue & grey livery whilst still unrefurbished, unusually retaining headcode boxes, partial rainstrips and blue squares, etc, whilst carrying this livery.
