A 2-Car Class 108 DMU at the then recently reopened station at Corby with 2F53 the 10.56 service to Kettering. The reinstatment of a passenger service from the Midland Mainline at Kettering to Corby on what was then a busy freight line was carried out under the "Speller Act", a parliamentary act that allowed BR to introduce an experimental passenger service or reopen a station which if it later proved to be loss making or no longer viable could then be closed without issuing formal closure notice procedures. Corby was reopened on 13th April 1987 but then closed on 4th June 1990.
