On Thursday 09/04/1970, a 4-car DMU, with Class 104 driving vehicles (rear is still in green livery) and Class 101 centre trailers, calls at Boldon Colliery, then in Co. Durham, with 1620 Newcastle-Sunderland. South Gosforth had four Class 104 DMCs on this date which would leave in October / December 1970.
