With Tyseley in Birmingham and Manchester Longsight Depot having small allocations of the remaining class 100 DMU vehicles by 1981 it was somewhat surprising to see this hybrid set formed of a class 100 DMBS and a class 101 DMC or DTC coupled behind the more usual class 120 "Swindon cross country" set on the Central Wales line. The train is departing north from Llandrindod Wells with the 10.10 Swansea to Shrewsbury on Friday 29/05/81.
