Provost James Lannan gives the "all-clear" for Musselburgh's diesel service on the first day of the DMUs, 9th June 1958. To his right are A. Spence, Stationmaster, James Ness, ScR General Manager, Baillie Mrs M. Hyde, JP, and Mr F. Donachy, Member of the Scottish Area Board. The services from the station operated by GRC&W twins, ran around the inner suburban circle.
