On a rainy Summer day, Class 101 three-car DMU 101325 with Driving Motor Brake Second SC51448 at the rear, had arrived at the terminus at North Berwick with a service from Edinburgh Waverley on July 22nd 1981. Although having been rationalised to a single platform, the station still retained its British Railways 1950's Scottish Region light blue enamel signage. The North Berwick branch was eventually electrified in 1991.
