On one of the surviving remnants of the former Southern Railway 'withered arm' in North Devon, the British Telecom yellow liveried Class 117 three-car DMU formed of cars 51302, 59469 & 51317 (P460), was approaching Umberleigh on a glorious Summer evening with 18.33 Barnstaple to Exeter St Davids service on July 25th 1987.
