Huddersfield Kirklees West Yorkshire 30th December 1982. After a trip up the Clayton West branch I returned to Huddersfield and caught a late afternoon trans-Pennine train to Leeds headed by a Peak. Looking back as we departed I took this shot of Huddersfield’s impressive 1880s trainshed. A first generation (Class 101?) diesel multiple unit is in platform 3 probably on a stopping service to Leeds and a Class 08 shunter stands in the now lifted up yard. This yard is a car park today, unsurprisingly.
