On the last day of Kilmacolm services - 8 January 1983 - hybrid DMU set 107435 (presumably with 51996 closest) is seen at Houston with a mid-morning service. This line, the last closure in Scotland which would never happen today, fell because of squabbling between District Council, Regional Authority and PTE funding.
