Class 101 DMU at Chester

Larger image(s): 2048px

Details

In the days before electrification, a Class 101/108 hybrid two-car DMU with a scabby-looking ex Eastern Region Class 101 E53202 at the rear, was stood in platform 7 at Chester with a service to Hooton on February 25th 1993.

E53202 still retained its Norwich set '70' in one of the cab windows. The unit was one of many life-expired First Generation DMU's kept in service to provide cover for the then problematic Class 142 fleet.
