Travelling on what is once again a passenger route, a three-car BRCW Class 110 DMU pulls up the bank from Barnsley station towards Summer Lane on a Sheffield to Huddersfield service in July 1983. This was during a brief period when the line was also used by MGR traffic from Dodworth colliery to Wath. Once the pit at Dodworth closed, it became a passenger-only route.
