A Class 115 DMU (51889 closest) with an Aylesbury service in Marylebone station, July 1975. Opened by Great Central Railway 1899, it was the last London main line terminus to be built, designed by the GCR's civil engineer Henry Braddock in English Renaissance style. There is another train shed to the left which is not visible in the photo. The train shed on the right was demolished in the late 1980's and replaced by new office development. Two new platforms were constructed in the very wide central platform (which had a cab rank).
