A Class 115 DMU (51889 closest) with an Aylesbury service in Marylebone station, July 1975. Opened by Great Central Railway 1899, it was the last London main line terminus to be built, designed by the GCR's civil engineer Henry Braddock in English Renaissance style. There is another train shed to the left which is not visible in the photo. The train shed on the right was demolished in the late 1980's and replaced by new office development. Two new platforms were constructed in the very wide central platform (which had a cab rank). Hugh Llewelyn.
BR (Derby) Class 115 4-car suburban dmu No.M51889 (Class 115), M59738 (173), M59672 (177), M51674 (115) in BR Rail Blue and all yellow front ends at Marylebone on an Aylesbury service, 07/75. Hugh Llewelyn.

M51889 leads a four-car set into Harrow-on-the-Hill on an Aylesbury to London Marylebone service. This car is in "blue band" livery, the second is all-over blue and the third is blue/grey. These Derby High-Density suburban units were introduced from 1960 on the Chiltern routes. A silly bit of trivia is that these units, having been designated class 115 in the TOPS scheme, found themselves working services on Table 115 when the GB Passenger Timetable book was created in 1974. Jeremy Chapter.
Under the train shed at what is proberley a much changed Marylebone station since I took this, is this Marylebone allocated 4 car Derby Suburban class 115 dmu made up of cars M51889, M59758, M59663, M51869, on which I had arrived on from Amersham 12th October 1985. Andrew J Crowther.
Class 115 DMBS 51889 in Banbury station with a Marylebone service in February 1989. Andrew Malloy.
A Class 115 DMU (the leading car was 51889) waits at Aylesbury to form the 12.10 service for Marylebone on April 23, 1989. Lewis Bevan.
A mixed-livery Class 115 DMU in Marylebone station on 10 June 1989. Closest is 51889. David Mant.
A work-weary looking class 115 DMBS no. 51889 leading a 4-car set including a class 108 driving trailer (54499) in place of one of the normal trailers, with 59747 and 51671. The set is seen on 9/Jun/1991 leaving the, for a class 115, relatively unusual location of Paddington with the rear power car making quite a smokey departure. By the end of 1991 the leading power car had been withdrawn from service. Robert Chilton.
Class 115 DMBS 51889 at Snailwell on 26th November 1991. Nicholas Youngman.
51865 at the head of the Quaintonian at Quainton Road on 25/4/84 which also contained 59651 + 59748 + 51678 / 51887 + 59649 + 59762 + 51889. Robert Frise.
The Quaintonian has an audience as it makes a smoky departure from Quainton Road on 25/4/84, containing 51865 + 59651 + 59748 + 51678 / 51887 + 59649 + 59762 + 51889. Robert Frise.
The Quaintonian shuttle departs from Quainton Road for Aylesbury on 25/4/84, containing 51865 - 59651 - 59748 - 51678 + 51887 - 59649 - 59762 - 51889. Robert Frise.
Two Class 115 sets formed 51865 - 59651 - 59748 - 51678 + 51887 - 59649 - 59762 - 51889 arrive at Quainton Road while working the Quaintonian on 25/4/84. Robert Frise.
59762 and 51889 sit at Quainton Road on 25/4/84 on Quaintonian duties. Robert Frise.
Running into Amersham station on 12th October 1985 is my train bound for London Marylebone, a Marylebone allocated 4 car Derby Suburban class 115 dmu made up of cars M51869, M59663, M59758, M51889. 26 years later I would be back in the same spot photographing London Undergrounds A60 stock, which was being withdrawn from service in 2011. Andrew J Crowther.
Not a brilliant quality shot, but included because it was unusual to see a class 115 set at Paddington. DMBS 51671 is seen at the rear of a 4-car set made up with 59747, 54499 and 51889 and with Princes Risborough on the destination blind, 9/Jun/1991. Robert Chilton.
