The weather isn't exactly "flaming June" as a brace of Chester allocated 2-car class 101 'Met-Cam' DMU's (54060 closest) are seen at Barmouth during the lay over on train 2J13, the 06.43 Machynlleth to Pwllheli on 11 June 1985. This train used to stand here for 40 minutes (07.37 to 08.17) hence no driver as the crew got off for their breakfast. I believe this lengthy station stop was to allow for it to then be a schools service delivering secondary school children from the seaside villages north of Barmouth going to school in Harlech.
