Substitution. A shortage of Swindon Cross Country DMUs led to a 3-car Metro Cammell set being drafted in to work the Aberdeen services, Dundee's Sc51799 seen arriving at Inverness on 8th July 1977. This unit was reallocated to the WR the following year.
