A Class 37 hauling a 2-car Cravens dmu which it had rescued after the dmu failed at Crowland, on the now-closed direct line between Spalding and March, in May 1982. Despite the fact the route was in its last months, there were several manned intermediate boxes with crossovers so the Thunderbird had been able to attach to the front of the train.
