Fake GWR liveried Class 117 (51410 + 59520 + 51368) is passing Newport Ebbw Jcn with a late afternoon Cardiff - Chepstow service on 26/09/1987. The DMU carries the number B430 which means it was a Bristol set. The train is passing the sad remains of Newport Ebbw Jnc diesel depot, this was a purpose built depot that catered for the numerous class 37's that were used on the South Wales coal trains but the decline of the coal industry meant that all requirements could be handled by Cardiff Canton and a few locos outstationed at Newport.
