A green liveried DMU calls at the splendid ornate station at Kenilworth, on the Coventry to Leamington line, on 18 January 1965. This was a rebuild of an earlier station and dated from 1884. The station lasted until 18th January 1965 when it closed although the structure remained intact for many years as a builders merchants. Various plans have appeared over the years for a new Kenilworth Station, eventually succeeding. This shot shows a country station with porter, coal trucks in the siding and as many station signs as could be crammed in. The DMU formation includes a Metro-Cammell twin and what could be Park Royal and Gloucester twins. Image taken by Peter Shoesmith.
