79972 is entering Motherwell here with Lesmahagow Junction signal box visible in the background. Believed to have been taken around 1960, this was allocated to Hamilton at the time and would probably have been operating a Holytown-Hamilton Central service which provided connections to/from Edinburgh via Shotts services. Photographer unknown, shared with the kind permission of Danny Mooney.
