Running as C801, the rather unusual pairing of W51077 + W51517, a GRC&W class 119 and a Metro-Cam class 101 DMU, run past Sutton Bridge Jn, Shrewsbury on 9th August 1986 whilst in charge of the 1048 Shrewsbury - Swansea service that seems to have a little too much first class seating... W51077 was delivered new to Bristol Marsh Jn shed 82B, in December 1959 with its original partners W59420 + W51105. Destined to remain Western Region allocated for its entire twenty seven and a half year career it was reallocated to depots at Bristol Bath Road 82A, Laira 84A, RG and CF. Stored serviceable whilst at BR on 11th May 1986 it was to lose its original partners and team up with Class 101 DMC W51517 when reinstated to traffic just over two months later at CF. Withdrawn from CF on 21st June 1987 it was later to be scrapped by Vic Berry's of Leicester.
