Rolling towards Haltwhistle on 08/06/1981 is a class 101 DMU, likely changing platforms atter terminating with the 15.08 Newcastle to Haltwhistle service. The picture was taken from the A69 road bridge, to the right is the River Tyne and the viaduct that supported the branch line to Alston.
