126 406 has just passed Elderslie No2 Signal Box and is crossing the flyunder for the Kilmacolm Branch (the truncated G&SWR main line to Greenock Princes Pier). The unit would have hit top speed along this section and would shortly after have the brakes applied hard for the stop at Johnstone. The short, 7 minute journey from Paisley to Johnstone was one of my favourite regular DMU trips. Photo taken at the very end of Class 126 operation - probably end of November 1982. The Kilmacolm line was closed in January 1983.
